- Salah is an outward expression of the tawheed that exists in the heart of the believer. Believers stand, bow and prostrate only to Allah ﷻ . They ask Allah ﷻ for forgiveness, mercy, help and success. They recite the following in their prayers everyday:
“It is You we worship and You we ask for help” [Soorat al-Faatihah]
- Salah is a pillar of Islam and a very important act of worship. Every Prophet and Messenger prayed and encouraged their followers to do the same. This shows how important Salah is. If a person is lazy to perform prayer, then he will be lazier to perform other acts of worship.
- In fact, people who do not pray, separate themselves from their Creator, Allah ﷻ . When Aboo Bakr As-Siddeeq was the khaleefah he wrote to one of his governors saying, “Know that your most important affair in my eyes is the prayer, whoever fails to perform them is more likely to fail to perform other acts of worship”.
Just before he died, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
“as-Salah as-Salah” [Musnad Ahmad, Ibn Maajah and an-Nasaa’i]
